The
Baltimore School of Arts is where Tonya Dedera got her start
in entertainment. Upon graduating Tonya went to New York
City. It was in the big city she auditioned for the greatest show
on earth. Ringling Brothers saw her talent and quickly offered her a job as a
dancer. So she packed up and ran away with the circus.
Tonya joined the show in 1986 and spent the next eight years riding
on the circus train. Dancing wasn't enough for this adventurer
so soon Tonya was asking to do more. In her eight years with the show, Tonya danced, did aerial web,
worked with a South African Trampoline act, and started in her own
single trapeze act - thirty feet over the arena floor. In 1993, Tonya decided to leave the circus with her future husband,
Dave, and move to Las Vegas. Here Tonya found work as
Cleopatra. That's right, she was Cleopatra for Cesar's
Palace. She also became a ring girl for the Mike Tyson fights
at MGM, she works as a trapeze artist all over Las Vegas. She
has been a back-up singer for Darryl Hall, walked stilts over Mick
Jagger, traveled around the world performing and now has her biggest
challenge - A seven month baby girl. |
